Establishing and denying paternity
If no father is specified in the child’s birth certificate, therefore neither in the register of births, deaths and marriages, the child’s mother or the man who claims to be the child’s father may petition the court to establish paternity.
Similarly, a situation may arise where the child’s father registered in the register of births, deaths and marriages claims not to be the father or where his paternity is denied by the child’s mother. In such cases, the man or the child’s mother has the right to deny paternity.
